Shooting witnesses wanted

Strathclyde Police is appealing for information following a shooting incident today in Prince Edward Street.

Around 0805 hours this morning, police received a report of a firearm being discharged outside a house in Prince Edward Street, Glasgow.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the incident. However, around 0805 hours this morning, the 48 year-old man was within his house in Prince Edward Street, when he answered his front door and was shot.
The 48 year-old man was taken by ambulance to Glasgow Victoria Infirmary where he is being treated for his injuries. Hospital staff describes his condition as serious but stable.
There is no description available of the suspect.
Detective Inspector Drew Ferguson of Gorbals CID is continuing enquiries.
He said: "Enquiries are at an early stage and we are currently carrying out door to door enquiries. I would appeal to anyone who was in the area and may have witnessed the incident or anyone who has any information regarding the person responsible to contact the police.
