Parkview Hotel Appeal Refused

Just heard that the Court issued the decision on 24th December and that the appeal against the Committee decision to refuse an HMO licence renewal for the Parkview Hotel was refused. I don't think the war is won but it is another victory against anti-social behaviour in the Queens Park area.

As I understand it McKever can appeal to the Court of Session but he has until late February to do that so don't hold your breath. The Parkview remains open whilst there is any live appeal.

Should people who repeatedly drink in parks be banned for life?

Asbo for Park Offenders?

I was just wondering what people think of the idea of persistent offenders being banned from parks? I spoke to someone today who mentioned that they won't allow their children to go into Queen's Park because of the drunks and trouble makers who frequent it. At a public meeting last night there were similar comments about the park. The police also mentioned that from September they will be able to issue fixed penalty notices for certain offences.

Public Meeting

Well my fears of a poor turnout couldn't have been more wrong. I recon that there had to be about 100 people who packed into the hall last night. Thanks to everyone who came especially Cllr Anne Marie Millar, Bailie Jahangir Hanif, Ann Hamilton (Glasgow Community & Safety Services), Supt Mike Dean and Sgt William Eadie. We also had Cllr David Meikle, Cllr Irfan Rabbani and Nicola Sturgeon sent along a representative.

Don't forget

Just a quick reminder to everyone that the meeting regarding anti-social behaviour in the area around the Queens Park Hotel is tomorrow evening at 7pm in Queens Park Parish Church, 170 Queens Drive.
