About 20,000 people are running the freshnlo Great Scottish Run, otherwise known as the Glasgow Half Marathon. The route takes us out from the centre, up to Pollok Park, then back in to town via the heart of Pollokshields and Shawlands.
Every bit of support is greatly appreciated!

Some of us are running for charity. I'm aiming to raise £1,500 for the Prostate Cancer Charity. More at http://www.justgiving.com/richardleyton and http://www.leyton.org

And the 10K too!
Worth emphasising too that the 10k is also running that day - starts at 9am and runs right through the heart of the area too, running down Shields Road, Nithsdale Road, before joining the half marathon route at Pollokshaws Road.
Routes are here:

Keep fingers crossed for good running weather - overcast with a light breeze would be perfect.
Road closures
Residents along the route should already have received a letter through the post outlining the road closures. We received our copy of the letter on Monday. Details can also be found here:

Those of us who are running - whether for charity or for our own fun - are always very grateful for the patience and support from residents in the areas we'll be passing through, and hope that they'll not have too much difficulty working around the short-lived diversions and closures in effect.
