i have just found this website and i am interested in opening a business in shawlands. obviously there are quite a few units available but the prices are a bit steep to be honest. i have seen a couple that interest me but one of them is in the arcade on the main street but after reading the comments on this site i am slightly apprehensive as to whether this would be a good idea.
are there any more public meetings planned?
has the future of the arcade been decided on yet?

i live in the area of silverburn but realistically what shawlands needs is to be the new west end. some main st stores but also some wee quicky shops to keep people interested. it already has the pubs and clubs, which seem to have changed a bit in the 15 years since i worked in the area. i like the pedestrian idea. personally i think it would work well.
the atmosphere is really nice and relaxed, pity the look doesn't compliment it.

any advice would be welcome
