Local politicians' views

Every month, the print edition of G41 gives all local politicians a space to tell you what they've been working on and share their views on local issues. It's a feature unique to G41, helping you keep track of what your politicians are doing and saying on your behalf.

Lib Dem councillor for Langside, Paul Coleshill, did send an article for our most recent issue on time, but it was swallowed up by cyberspace. It missed the print deadline, but here's what Paul had to say for our March edition:

As a councillor for a ward next door to Pollok Park I have been against the 'Go Ape' proposal from the start. As it tries to balance competing interests the council has its values wrong.
Pollok already contains: fields of highland cattle; a golf course; a motorway; a gallery; an historic house; a museum; an adventure play area, stables; a ranger centre; a sports facility for the police; police training dog kennels; cycle ways, tennis courts; a cricket pitch; several football pitches; a managed country garden; a wildlife and scent garden and a picnic area.
The quiet wooded green space left (essentially North wood) is valued by the council administration as practically worthless to the general public.
With this proposal it's worth a few thousand quid a year giving privileged access to a lot of rich fun seekers.
Let's hope there is an 11th hour conversion at the planning committee stage!
