Comments
save pollock park website
I think its unfortunate that the website set up for this has innaccurate and misleading information regarding park usage for the public and for Go Ape customers, along with a heavily edited photograph of a typical Go Ape course.
Surely it is in the public interest to present fact and not fiction in this case.
Pollok Park
The information on the website (www.savepollokpark.com) has all been taken from the Council's own Committee papers or the Company's application submission and can be checked at the Council offices
The photo of the stockade is as submitted by the company in the application and has not been altered in any way. All other photos and maps are from the company and council papers/websites - again not altered in any way
This contrasts with the Council's web info which claims that there were 199 positive responses to the consultation without mentioning that 110 of them were schoolchildren from Maryhill/ North Glasgow given forms to fill in by their teachers
It is not in our interst or necessary to "edit" anythng - it speaks for itself

Keep profiteers out of our Pollok Park!
As a regular user of Pollok Park, I was shocked and appalled to hear that a 21-year lease has been granted to a private comany over an extensive area of forest!
What can be guaranteed is that this is going to turn into a pretty big dispute - as there are many, many more like me, who are *VERY* disappointed to have had the wool pulled over their eyes.
I find it very odd that, although we use the park almost every day, we had not seen any sign or consultation notice whatsoever. Thankfully some protesters brought it to our attention today - and they have my full backing.
Keep "GoApe" and these profiteers out of our public parks!
