As mentioned on 22nd September 07, http://www.southsidemedia.org/g41/node/1982 , Southside Housing has applied for permission to build on the green spaces on the corners of Leslie and Forth Street and Leslie and Keir Street.

The decision has not yet been made by the council as to whether or not to allow this.

You CAN influence this decision and stop the building.

The most effective way to do this is to write to Sarah Shaw - planning officer - now, to tell her why you object (see attached in the article dated 22nd Sepetember 07, http://www.southsidemedia.org/g41/node/1982, complimentary leaflets in English and Urdu for some of the negative impacts that the building would have).
This is the most important thing you can do.

Sarah Shaw is the planning officer in charge of the planning application. She is currently assessing the application and your comments/objections will feed directly into her decision making.

Deadline is 26th October 2007 (this was extended from the 5th October due to a technical delay in the planning process).

Your voice WILL affect the decision about whether to build or not. There is large and growing opposition to the plans. You will be joining many others in voicing opposition to the proposed development.
